Essence, Power, and Activity in Classical and Late Antiquity - 08-09/09/2015, Oxford (England)

Essence power activity Oxford 2015.jpg

This conference stems from a collaboration between British and French teams and aims at investigating the dynamic relations between the concepts of essence, power and activity structuring Ancient thought, via the organisation of two international meetings, the other to take place in March 2016 in Paris. Starting with Plato and Aristotle, it further investigates conceptual developments in the fields of metaphysics and theology, until the wake of the Christian era.
