The History Department of York University is inviting abstract submissions of 500 words for a conference on “Current Research in Greek and Roman History” to be hosted at York University on Saturday 9 April 2016. The committee will be accepting abstracts on a variety of topics relevant to the study of ancient mediterranean history encompassing Archaic and Classical Greek History, Hellenistic History, Archaic, Republican and Imperial Roman History. Topics may include, but are not limited to, discussions on Political, Economic, Military, Social, Cultural and Gender history, as well as Historiography and Archaeology.

All abstracts should be for previously unpublished works. Papers should be 20 minutes in length, which will be followed by a period for questions and discussion. Applicants are also asked to attach a current CV to their submissions.

Abstracts should be submitted by email to cmurdoch@yorku.ca no later than January 31, 2016 for consideration. Notification about acceptance will be sent by February 15 at the latest.
