CALL:

The Women’s Network of the Classical Association of Canada invites submissions for this year’s panel, themed “Women in Conflict in Ancient Greece and Rome”. Submissions may include, but are not limited to, explorations of women as victims of violence and conflict and as actors or agents of violence and conflict; conflict physical or psychological, real or fictional; and conflict as represented in Greco-Roman art, literature, historiography, or rhetoric. We warmly encourage all scholars and graduate students who are interested in the topic to apply; papers may be delivered in English or French.

The Women's Network of the Classical Association of Canada supports women’s scholarship in Classical Studies, women’s professional activities in the discipline, and all scholars and graduate students with research and teaching interests in gender and sexuality in the ancient world. The only requirement for participation is membership in the CAC, http://cac-scec.ca/wordpress/membership/ .

Please submit abstracts of 350-500 words (with relevant bibliography) by Friday, January 15th, 2016 directly to Kathy Simonsen (kathryns@mun.ca) and indicate that the abstract is for the Women’s Network.
