Philosophy for the Polis - 06-07-08-09/09/2016, Zurich (Switzerland)
After Berlin (2004), Hamburg (2007), Würzburg (2010) and Munich (2013) the fifth triennial Conference of the Society for Ancient Philosophy (Gesellschaft für antike Philosophie, GANPH) will take place from 6-9 September 2016 in Zurich. The conference is dedicated to the Political Philosophy of Antiquity.
In accordance with the objectives of the GANPH (which has been founded in 2001), this international congress aims at putting into the spotlight the vital importance of the ancient world for our contemporary culture in general, and in particular for philosophical reflections on the human being as 'political animal' and on the social preconditions for a good and successful life.
