The ARYS Association, the Institute for Historiography “Julio Caro Baroja” and the Catholic University of Murcia organize the XVIth International ARYS Conference, and send this call for papers related to the conference title: the existing relationship between religious and sport phenomena in Antiquity, including their manifestations as mass spectacles, in all geographical and cultural contexts, from Egypt and Near East to the Classical World and pre-Roman native peoples. Papers, written in Spanish, English, French, Italian or Portuguese, should be sent to the Secretary of the ARYS Association, Juan Ramón Carbó (jrcarbo@ucam.edu), before the deadline of 15 October 2016. They should include title, abstract, full name, University and a brief CV. If the paper is accepted, the prize for inscription will be 60€, following the instructions which will be sent to authors. Participants will receive a printed copy of the volume with the results, submitted to blind peers and published in ARYS journal, and also a digital copy of the paper.
La Asociación ARYS, el Instituto de Historiografía Julio Caro Baroja y la Universidad Católica de Murcia organizan el XVI Coloquio Internacional ARYS e invitan a enviar propuestas de contribuciones de acuerdo a la temática del congreso: la relación entre los fenómenos religiosos y deportivos en la Antigüedad, incluyendo sus manifestaciones como espectáculos de masas, en todos los ámbitos geográficos y culturales, desde Egipto y el Próximo Oriente a las civilizaciones clásicas y también los pueblos autóctonos prerromanos. Las propuestas, en español, inglés, francés, italiano o portugués, deberán ser enviadas al secretario de la Asociación ARYS, Juan Ramón Carbó (jrcarbo@ucam.edu), antes del 15 de octubre de 2016. Deberán incluir el título, resumen, nombre y universidad de procedencia del autor, y un breve CV. En caso de ser aceptadas las propuestas, el precio de inscripción será de 60€, según las instrucciones que se comunicarán a los autores. Los participantes recibirán una copia impresa del volumen con los resultados, sujetos a revisión por el sistema de “pares ciegos”, y que será publicado en la revista ARYS. También recibirán una separata digital y el certificado de participación y de haber presentado su ponencia en el congreso.
