Society and Innovation in 4th-3rd century B.C.E. Etruria - 21-22/10/2016, Bolsena (Italy)


The Conference is a perfect chance to address the specific issues of that interesting and controvesial period, as recent discoveries and researches are expanding dramatically our knowledge of Etruscan and Roman societies. The Conference is especially devoted to the Late Etruscan archaeology (4th3rd century B.C.E.), the social and economic issues, the military architecture and the fortified settlements, with a special focus on Vulci. The main themes addressed by the Conference are: the multifaceted relation between capitals, minor settlements and borders; the fortified centres and the control of the territory; the role played by the sacred places; Vulci and its territory.
