CALL:
The purpose of the conference – which will prepare the first Convention to be held in March 2018 – is to test the initiative of a European Academy of Religion as a research platform and as a network of networks. Fscire will host the conference and be in charge of all the organizational aspects of it. The Scientific Program All the academies and associations, departments and research centers, scientific journals and publishers working in the large area of the European and Mena Countries as well as the Balkans, Caucasus, Russia and beyond, willing to participate in this inclusive initiative are kindly asked to submit proposal of panels and disputationes by February 24th . Societies or groups arranging larger sections or conferences during the “Zero Conference” are welcome. At the same time, Scholars and groups of Scholars are invited to present individual papers or panels. Proposal templates are available on this website (see Forms) and should be send to eu_are2017@fscire.it. We thank all of those who will answer this call and would like to share it via their own websites. The Market Place Publishers may have for free a space for meetings with scholars and for receiving proposals from the participants. Institutional and private donors who want to launch calls and research opportunities will have rooms for meetings with scholars and research groups. Lectiones et Disputationes Three lectures and three disputationes will be arranged by the hosting institution: while contacts are on their way, suggestions and CVs will be welcome. Registration and Fees Registration will open on January 16th and it will close on May 30th . The fee for senior scholars and professors is € 60; for students, PhD students, PostDoc and early career scholars the fee is € 30. For scholars who cannot access their own travel funds, travel grants of € 200 may be available. Special agreements will be established with hotels and restaurants. Fscire will organize complimentary artistic events and guided tours for the registered participants, and partially fund the gala dinner.

We are looking forward to receiving your proposals and we kindly ask to spread the word among your colleagues. Let me remind you that the forms to be sent to our Events Office with your proposals are available in the Download section of the website (https://www.europeanacademyofreligion.org/download-area). The deadline has been extended until April, 10.
