CALL:
Dear Professors, Researchers, Students, The DEPARTMENT of CLASSICAL PHILOLOGY and MODERN GREEK STUDIES and The INSTITUTE of CLASSICAL STUDIES of the FACULTY of FOREIGN LANGUAGES and LITERATURES (UNIVERSITY of BUCHAREST) cordially invite you to attend the colloquium CLOSE, FAR-AWAY, EVERYWHERE, NOWHERE. PERPETUAL GLOSSES ON THE EXILE THEME 3th of June, 2017 The fifth edition of our annual colloquia is devoted and pays tribute to the great poet exiled to Tomis. In order to celebrate the bimillenary of Ovid's death, we propose a theme immutably associated both with the poet and his writings. Still, this topic covers any periods of time or areas, as well as any subject pertaining to our working hypothesis of the exile as problematically defined through distance and absence.
Our panels will be, as usual: 1. Greek culture and civilization 2. Latin culture and civilization 3. Other cultures and civilizations. The colloquium languages are: Romanian, French and English. Registration: Our colleagues who wish to register for the colloquium are required to fill out the form below and send it to the following email address by 10th of May, 2017: exil.classica2017[at]gmail.com. The answer of the Scientific Committee will be conveyed by 15th of May, 2017. Attendance will be confirmed to exil.classica2017[at]gmail.com. Detailed papers (maximum of 10 pages) will be submitted by 25th of October, 2017. Registration fee (50 euros) is to be paid when attending the colloquium. The Organizing Committee: Professor Ana-Cristina Halichias Lecturer Theodor Georgescu Lecturer Ioana Munteanu
