INSET for teachers of GCSE Ancient History: The Persian Empire - 24/06/2017, London (England)
The new OCR specifications for Ancient History include a compulsory element on the Persian Empire, 559-465 BC. This is a period study focusing on the Persian Empire under Cyrus the Great, Cambyses II, Darius I and Xerxes I. While this is a potentially exciting development, it is also potentially daunting for those teachers who will be leading their students into the study of sources and phenomena that constitute relatively unchartered territory. This INSET day is designed for teachers of GCSE Ancient History and those who are considering introducing it to their schools and colleges. It may be of relevance to those who are teaching other aspects of Persian history at A-level.
