CALL. 31.08.2017: The Egyptology Graduate Conference - Providence, RI (USA)
The Egyptology Graduate Conference will provide an arena for all graduate students (from any academic institution worldwide) to present their research to one another in an academic but relaxed environment, allowing graduate students from different universities to get to know one another and the types of research being carried out at other academic institutions. It will provide a space for students to practice giving conference talks to an unfamiliar audience but without the academic pressure and size of formal conferences, and will provide a forum for constructive feedback and discussion about both the research presented and the presentation itself, all whilst exchanging research and ideas among peers.

CALL:
This conference aims to foster the professional development of young scholars and bring emerging Egyptologists into conversation with one another. Papers will imitate the format of a national conference to allow students to practice giving this form of presentation. Talks will be 20 minutes long with 5-10 minutes for questions and discussion, and may relate to any aspect of Egyptology. For those wishing for feedback on their presentation style as well as their research, anonymous feedback forms will be distributed to the audience and collected at the end of the paper for the sole use of the speaker. We invite all graduate students (Masters and PhD) and advanced undergraduates writing a thesis to submit abstracts by August 31, 2017. Abstracts can be submitted on the webpage: https://egyptologygradconference.wordpress.com or by email: mailto:egyptologygradconference@gmail.com.
