We are pleased to announce that the fifth-annual UWICAH (Universities in Wales Institute of Classics and Ancient History) Postgraduate Conference will be at UWTSD Lampeter. This one-day conference will be held in the Founders’ Library on Lampeter Campus on Saturday 25th November 2017.
This year, we are accepting papers under the themes of:
Communication
Narrative
Witchcraft/Magic
Networks
Art/Display
Identity
Reception
We encourage a wide interpretation of these themes and welcome submissions from postgraduates of any institution and discipline with a link to the ancient world. We aim to promote interdisciplinarity and collegiality in Wales and beyond.
The organisers invite abstracts of no more than 300 words by 31st October. Papers should be 20 minutes, with 10 minutes of questions afterwards. Successful applicants will be informed shortly afterwards.
The UWICAH Postgraduate Conference offers new and existing students the chance to present their research in a less intimidating academic environment. It also offers postgraduates excellent opportunities for networking, so feel free to attend without giving a paper.
There is no conference fee and tea/coffee/lunch is provided thanks to the generous support of the Classical Association. Delegates will have the chance to join us for dinner in the evening at their own expense.
