The Rose-Marie Lewent Conference: "The Dead Sea Scrolls at 70" - 16-17/11/2017, New York (
The Center for Ancient Studies' Fall 2017 conference will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the discovery of the first Dead Sea Scrolls and bring together a group of distinguished scholars to address many of the central questions regarding the contribution of the Scrolls to our understanding of the Bible and the history of Judaism and Christianity. In marking seventy years of scholarship, the Colloquium will also be retrospective: participants will consider how three generations of scholars have addressed the very questions that dominate their own intellectual projects. In addition, this conference will offer an opportunity to consider the role of digital technologies in deciphering these 2,000-year-old manuscripts.
