CALL:
The second International Colloquium on Ancient Greek Linguistics (ICAGL 2), Helsinki 2018, carries on with the new series on Ancient Greek linguistic research established in Rome Tor Vergata in March 2015. In Rome ICAGL merged with the biennial Incontro Internazionale di Linguistica Greca (IILG).
The motif behind this series of colloquia is to study aspects of Ancient Greek linguistic usage from all angles, synchronically and diachronically, whether this be connected to language variation or development, and whether it relates to the phonological, morphological, syntactic or semantic/pragmatic level. The Helsinki 2018 colloquium has two themes: 1) Language contact between Greek and other languages and 2) Linguistic research on original documents and manuscripts.
We now invite Greek linguists to submit an abstract preferably, but not necessarily, relating to one or both themes of the colloquium for 1) a paper presentation (20 min) or 2) a poster. The anonymised abstract of max. 500 words (excluding references) should be sent by 31 January, 2018 to icagl2018((at))helsinki.fi (as both .pdf and .docx/.rtf). The working languages of the colloquium are English, French, German and Italian. Notification of acceptance will be given by 28 February, 2018.
