The Pathology of Love in Greek and Roman Art and Literature - 09-10/06/2018, Oxford (England)

We are pleased to announce this two-day conference, in which a line-up of fourteen experts from the UK and overseas will discuss the conception of love as 'disease' in various Greek and Roman literary texts and artefacts. What are the symptoms of a person falling in love, or of the person-target of love? Which are the seduction techniques and the remedia amoris? How does artistic imagination deal with pothos and pathos? How are the aesthetics of the erotic pathology formed?
