Africa and the Danubian Provinces of the Roman Empire - 29-30/06/2018, Timisoara (Romania)
The symposium will focus on illustrating the African military and civilian presence in Danubian provinces, the African influences manifested at the level of material culture, religion and magic, but also the presence of the inhabitants of the Danubian provinces, be they military or civilian, in African provinces of the Roman Empire. There will be three sections: epigraphy, archeology and religion / magic. We encourage, besides the traditional methods of research, an interdisciplinary approach that involves concepts like cognitive religion, archeology of senses and identity.
