CALL:
Classics and Ancient History at the University of Auckland is pleased to announce the Fifth Australasian Egyptology Conference to be held in Auckland on the 7th-9th September 2018. A keynote address and reception will be held on the evening of Friday 7th September. Continuing on from the success of previous meetings at Monash University in 2009, The University of Auckland in 2011, and Macquarie University in 2014, the fifth conference aims to provide a forum for practising scholars and postgraduate students to share research on the art, archaeology, language and literature of ancient Egypt. Participation is open to all regional and international Egyptologists whose research explores the pre-pharaonic, pharaonic, and/or post-pharaonic periods. We ask that abstracts be sent to AustralasianEgyptology2018@gmail.com no later than 16 February, 2018. Abstracts may be up to 300 words in length and must include the title of the paper, and the author's/authors' name(s) and affiliation(s). The abstract must also nominate one of the following formats in which the presentation will be delivered.

Abstracts will be reviewed by the Organising Committee, who reserve the right to select proposals based on the suitability of content and presentation format. Please note: the intention of the Organising Committee is to expedite the publication of the conference proceedings and we therefore request that speakers be prepared to submit a publication-ready version of their presentation by 31 December 2018. This will be peer-reviewed before acceptance in the volume. Further details concerning registration, venue and attendance at the Fifth Australasian Egyptology Conference will be posted shortly.
