We are pleased to announce the first call for papers for the next Annual Meeting of UK and Eire Postgraduates in Ancient History (AMPAH). The meeting will be hosted by the Faculty of Classics of the University of Cambridge on 16 th March 2019. We now invite postgraduate students to submit proposals for papers. Papers should last about 20 minutes, and will be followed by a further ten minutes for discussion. Topics can cover any area of Ancient History, including the history and historiography of Classical Greece and Rome, the ancient Near East and Egypt, Late Antiquity and the Byzantine Empire, and of comparable periods of world history.
Abstracts should be no more than 300 words, and should be sent as a pdf. file to the following email address: ampahistory@gmail.com . Please make sure to include the following personal information in the document: name; institutional and departmental affiliation; email address; postgraduate status (e.g. PhD). The deadline for submission is Friday 14th December 2018. Final decisions, and details about the registration process, will be communicated by the end of January 2019.
AMPAH is an inclusive conference that provides a stimulating opportunity for postgraduates to give presentations and exchange ideas in a friendly and open academic environment. We encourage a diverse range of applications and are looking forward to receiving your abstracts.
To accommodate same-day travel to Cambridge for all UK and Eire-based postgraduates on the day of the conference, no panel will start before 10.00 or end after 18.00.
