The Call for Papers and Posters for the 2019 Theoretical Roman Archaeology Conference is now open and will close on December 2nd. TRAC 2019 will be held at the University of Kent in Canterbury on 11th – 14th of April. There will be a wide variety of sessions on offer (see below) as well as several workshops (TBC).
Paper submissions should include:
The speaker’s name and title
Institution
Contact email
An abstract of 200 – 250 words
Please indicate which session you wish to contribute to, or if you are submitting for the general session. If the session is oversubscribed, submitted papers will also be considered for the general session.
Standard sessions include:
Urban Religion in Roman North Africa
Cross-channel relations: Kent and the Gallic coast in the Roman period
Who am I – and if so how many? Identity research and research identity
Resurgence of Native Styles and Practices in the Roman Provinces
Sensory and cognitive approaches to Roman religious ritual(s)
Whose history is this? Multivocal narratives of Roman archaeology
Un-Sacred Spaces? Decoration of Space for Ritual Purposes
New perspectives within commercial Roman archaeology
Revisiting the Limes: Space, place and experience on the Roman frontiers

Posters
We will be accepting both hardcopy and digital posters. Hardcopy posters will be displayed in the atrium outside the sessions. Digital posters will be on a rolling display on a projector, which can take one of two formats:
A 5-minute video presentation about your research.
A 5-minute automated PowerPoint presentation.
