CALL:
The aim of the conference is to bring together scholars who have an interest in Indo-European languages and culture, in order to encourage an interdisciplinary dialogue on different, yet interwoven aspects of Indo European linguistics, religion and poetics.
The conference will be held on Friday-Saturday, October 11-12, 2019, at the Department of Nordic Studies and Linguistics, South Campus of the University of Copenhagen.
The conference will feature the following keynote-speakers: José Luis García Ramón (Harvard Center for Hellenic Studies); Peter Jackson (Stockholm University); Stephanie W. Jamison (University of California, Los Angeles); Joshua Katz (Princeton University); Claire Le Feuvre (Sorbonne University)
Scholars at any stage of their career are invited to submit an abstract dealing with linguistic reconstruction of the Indo-European lexicon, phraseology, myth and religion. Interdisciplinary topics combining linguistics and archeology, iconography and myth or ritual are more than welcome.
A period of twenty minutes will be allotted for each paper, followed by a ten-minute discussion period. Abstracts should be no longer than 600 words and should be anonymous. They should indicate the precise topic to be dealt with, the author’s contribution to the topic and the author’s specific conclusions.
Abstracts must be received by May 12, 2019. They should be sent via e-mail as an attached PDF and WORD file to Laura Massetti iereligioncopenhagen@gmail.com and laura.massetti@hum.ku.dk.
Abstracts will be reviewed and selected for presentation. Successful candidates will be notified of the outcome shortly after the deadline and will be invited to submit a reviewed version of their abstracts by September 1, 2019.
The reviewed version of the abstracts will then be published online.
The language of the conference is English.
A peer-reviewed publication is envisaged for selected papers.
