The organising committee now invites abstracts for presentations at the first annual Keeling Graduate and Early Career Conference in Ancient Philosophy on this years theme, ancient Greek ethics. Keynote speakers: Karen Margrethe Nielsen (Oxford), Raphael Woolf (KCL) About the conference: The conference is organised by an intercollegiate group of current graduate students and recent graduates from UCL and King’s College London. The aim of the conference is to provide a forum for senior graduate students and recent graduates to present and discuss work on ancient philosophy in a serious and formal environment. In this inaugural installment, the conference invites papers specifically on the subject of ancient ethics. Format: Talks will be 45 minutes long, with 45 minutes of discussion. Abstracts must be no longer than 400 words and prepared for blind review. The deadline for sending abstracts is 1 March 2019 and submissions should be sent to margaret.hampson.09@ucl.ac.uk. Eligibility: Applicants must be in their 2nd year of their PhD or later, and no more than 3 years past graduation. This year the conference theme is ancient Greek ethics. Funding: The conference includes lunch and a subsidised dinner for all speakers. Depending on the success in securing further funding, we will endeavour to subsidise travel and accommodation cost for out of town visitors as much as possible.
