We cordially invite you to participate in the 9th Instrumenta inscripta colloquium 2020 in Graz giving a lecture or presenting a poster.
The participation of students and young scientists is especially welcomed. Conference scholarships for Junior Researches can be applied for.
The conference series deals with research on the extensive and heterogeneous source group of inscriptions on objects of daily life from Roman times (on Instrumentum domesticum etc.). It began at the conference venue in Pécs (1991) and was successfully continued in Klagenfurt (2005) with shorter intervals in Macerata (2009), Barcelona (2011), Verona (2012), Aquileia (2015), Cagliari (2017) and Barcelona (2018). The conference proceedings also form reference works on the respective thematic focal points.
The conference in Graz will focus on inscribed jewellery such as fibulae or finger rings. The topic also includes inscriptions with a decorative or calligraphic character on other Instrumenta. The broad spectrum of labelling of goods will also be adressed. Following the custom, Varia et Notabilia deviating from the main topic, can also be presented in Graz. In addition, a separate section is dedicated to databases, digitisation and the Internet.

Proposals for the conference papers should be sent to the following e-mail adress by mid November 2019. Required are name and address of the participant, title of the contribution and a separate file (doc, docx or pdf format) in the e-mail attachment with the abstract in the length of max. 20 lines and preferably one or two illustrations. A Book of Abstracts is planned. The Scientific Comittee reserves the right to make a content or organisational selection of the submitted contributions.
