[POSTPONED] AMPAL 2020. Fear in Ancient Culture - 15-16/06/2020, Reading (England)
This year’s AMPAL includes a tour of the Ure Museum of Greek Archaeology, our departmental museum founded by Percy and Annie Ure. In addition to the museum’s permanent display, we are proud to present two temporary displays: the British Museum’s ‘Spotlight loan’ on the theme of ‘Helen and Achilles: beauty, heroism & the fall of Troy’, and an inaugural student exhibit, ‘Fear Beyond Words’.
FECHA / DATE/DATA: 15-16/06/2020 [POSTPONED]
UPDATE: We are sorry to let you know that the AMPAL 2020 Organising Committee has made the difficult decision to postpone the conference. This is not a decision that we have made lightly. AMPAL is a long and well established annual meeting of classics postgraduates, but the safety of our keynote speaker, presenters and attendees must come first. AMPAL is an annual conference, and it is still unclear when travel and movement restrictions will be withdrawn and social gatherings will be permitted again. Therefore, we are now working closely on holding the conference on the same theme in June 2021. Abstracts that have already been accepted for presentation this year will automatically be included in next year’s conference should the speakers are still available then. In addition, the committee has decided the addition of at least some more sessions or even a whole conference day for next year so that more postgraduates can participate. Therefore, a Call for Papers along with the new dates will be circulated in due course.
