The Société Internationale des Amis de Cicéron (SIAC), with support from the departments of Studi Umanistici of Università di Torinoand Università del Piemonte Orientale et l’ERIAC (Équipe de Recherche Interdisciplinaire sur les Aires Culturelles – Université de Rouen-Normandie), calls for contributions (papers and/or posters) addressing various topics related to Cicero and Roman thought in digital perspectives.
The range of proposals includes, but is not limited to,
· ideas for research projects (ongoing or completed) conducted via digital methods or tools
· digital-oriented didactic strategies
· digital editions
· thoughts on how the use of digital methods or tools may impact the study of Cicero and Roman thought

Abstracts must be limited to 500 words (bibliography excluded) and may be written in Italian, French, English, German, or Spanish. Contributors are invited to specify whether their proposal is designed as a paper or poster and, if a paper, whether they would be willing to make it a poster if necessary. By way of generic instruction, posters are better suited for a work in progress, whereas papers are the preferred format of a more accomplished project.
The most valuable contribution offered by a scholar at the stages of graduate student, PhD candidate, or post-doc, will be awarded the SIAC prize, for the value of €200.
The organisation is able to cover the expenses for accommodation and meals, but not the travel costs, for the accepted speakers.
Proceedings of the conference will be published on a dedicated issue of COL - Ciceroniana on linehttp://www.ojs.unito.it/index.php/COL ISSN 2532-5353). All the contributions presented for publication (by 31 May 2021) will be subject to double-blind peer review. The volume of proceedings will be issued by the end of 2021.

UPDATE:
When we conceived this conference in the autumn (it seems like a lifetime ago!), we never would have imagined that digital technology would have made such a violent and sudden irruption into our teaching and research practices and at a worldwide level. We would like, therefore, that this conference does not simply pick up where we left off, but also, and above all, becomes an opportunity to reflect and discuss - what each of us is trying to put into practice, often with difficulty, in order to continue teaching and research in this dramatic period - which aspects of digital humanities are working and providing help and which aspects are not. In short, the world has changed, and we would also like Cicero Digitalis to adapt. We are waiting for your proposals!
